| SATURDAY ARTS HUB from Saturday
15th May 2010 until Saturday 19th March 2011
9.30am - 12.30pm starting weekly during term time from Saturday 15th May 2010 until Saturday 19th March 2011.
The hubs are open to disabled children and young people living in Staffordshire and who are aged between 5 – 18 years.
Blackfriars FE College, Bucknall and Walton Hall Special School, near Stafford
The hubs will offer a choice of different arts activities each week including:
Dance, Drama, Singing, Film making, Animation, Music (live, Rock school and technology), Visual Art, Painting, Photography, Sculpturing / Ceramics, Costume making, Crafts, Design and printing (on t-shirts/hats/wheels).
The different art forms will be rotated each week with the most popular arts activities running more frequently. The ‘SAT ARTS HUB’ will provide exciting new opportunities to access activities, in a safe open environment where participants will be listened to, make new friends, choose what they want to take part in, contribute and shape the sessions and achieve and enjoy arts activities together.
Young people attending will benefit from workshops lead by professional dancers, actors, artists, film makers, musicians and photographers, all experienced in working with a wide range of abilities; get special FRONTLINEdance certificates for attending; opportunity to be part of the children’s university which includes graduation ceremonies at Staffordshire University, learn new and exciting skills; keep fit and be healthy; get to try out lots of different arts activities; find out what they are good at and where they can do more. Computer Support Warning Trading Standards Officers have issued a renewed warning to computer users to be on their guard against unsolicited telephone calls from phoney computer support personnel. Rewriting Will Con Trading Standards are advising people to beware of a Will writing plot that cons unsuspecting victims into paying for their Wills to be unnecessarily rewritten. FIFA Cup Scam Letter Trading Standards have been informed of residents receiving bogus letters claiming they you have won money off tickets for The World Cup to the value of £220. Fake iTunes Voucher Warning Trading Standards Officers are warning computer users to be on their guard against bogus emails that claim to offer a free $50 iTunes voucher.
