Nuisance Motor Vehicles
Police now have the power to seize motor vehicles being used in an anti social manner and due to local concerns would encourage residents of Loggerheads to report such incidents direct to their Community Officers.

Police are collating such information with a view to taking positive action and require not only Registration Numbers of offending vehicles but information as to the anti social manner they are being used.

Break in at the rear of the old chemist in Loggerheads on Friday night

A very concerned resident emailed as follows:-

"Please send out a email reporting that there was a break in at the old chemist on Friday night. They left all their beer, wine bottles, takeaway rubbish some of which has been seized by the police for forensic analysis. This was no professional job like the cash machine. These are children belonging to local people who think its great to have no respect for other peoples property. The police have been informed and investigated on sat afternoon. Do you think that parent should question where their children are at 10 and 11 o'clock at night as some of them are under age."

If you have any details, please report it to the Police using their non emergency number

Ashley House planning applications

The following could be material planning issues for those wishing to object to Ashley House planning applications. They are listed in general terms with reference to the 2006 Public Inquiry and separately with reference to the latest application numbers. All emails or letters should mention these planning application numbers. Emails to be sent to planningapplications@newcastle-staffs.gov.uk

GENERAL
Site is clearly unable to meet the needs of Care Principles nor is any 'expanded' form acceptable to residents for all the same issues as were upheld by the inspector's decision at 2006 Inquiry
Inspector cited fear of crime, visual impact and impact on a special landscape
Inspector upheld view that the change of use from school to psychiatric hospice had been unfairly achieved with false information fed by Care Principles
The two new applications come 3 years after the Inquiry decision with complete disregard by Care Principles to the legal requirement to apply for car parking permission for the current operation
The boundary of the secure compound has been moved again with disregard to residents' viewpoints.
09/00557/FUL - Fence application
Visual impact
Raising residents' perceived, or real, fear of crime
Constant reminder of the existence of the institution
There is no established legal requirement for the fence though Care Principles claim this to be so and use it as their reason for applying
09/00558/FUL - Buildings and car park application
Visual impact
Expansion by 'planning creep'
Car park already being used was declared illegal in 2006 and no action taken
THE DEADLINE FOR (LEGIBLE ONLY) LETTERS OR EMAILS TO BE RECEIVED BY THE PLANNING OFFICE AT NEWCASTLE BOROUGH COUNCIL, CIVIC OFFICES, MERRIAL STREET, N-U-L. ST5 2AG IS
6TH NOVEMBER 2009. Call Simon on 07989 303066 or 672481 for any further information.
