Dog Fouling in your area - is it a problem?

Are there particular areas where you live that Dog Fouling, in your opinion, is a problem?

If so, please email info@loggerheads.eu with the details (road name etc.)

and the information will be passed on to our Dog Warden

Please remember, you can email as well, in confidence, the name and address of any irresponsible dog owner (who is actually breaking the law) and this will be passed onto the dog warden.

Food Waste Recycling - clarification

Residents can use no liner at all if they wish, and place food directly inside the silver caddy and green outside bin. Both are easy to wash out, and the caddy can go in a dishwasher.

Residents can use a single sheet of newspaper to line their caddy. This can also be a no-cost option, using free newspapers such as The Advertiser or the Council publication, called The Reporter. Bought newspapers can of course be used. Residents should only use a single sheet of newspaper if they chose this option.

Residents can purchase liners at a large range of places - supermarkets, DIY shops, local shops etc. These are available at a range of prices. The Council is looking for local stores to stock these as part of a network, however in Loggerheads the Late Shop has declined to be part of this network. The Council would like to hear of anyone else who might be interested in stocking them, and would pass details on to the independent organisation arranging this. The Council-sponsored network is one which makes no profit for the Council.

The Council is running a couple of drop-in sessions for local residents on Monday 22nd 11am-1pm at the Loggerheads Community Information Shop and on Tuesday 23rd 7.30pm at the Hugo Meynell School. Anyone with queries about the new services would be welcomed at these sessions.

A leaflet covering all four collection services (recycling, food waste, garden waste and refuse) will be delivered during the fortnight commencing 15th February along with a combined calendar clearly indicating when collections take place. Residents will alternate between blue week (food waste and recycling) and green week (food waste, garden waste and refuse).

The Council website is being redesigned to communicate all details of the new services.
