The story behind the local company - Plants from Zion

Q: So, what is the story behind of Plants from Zion?

Plants from Zion is a small family business based in Ashley . My name is Ofer El-Hashahar and I was born and bred in Israel and married a lovely English woman. We moved from Israel to the UK, with our little girls, to live where my wife Fiona had been brought up.

On a personal note:

Setting up Plants from Zion was quite a challenge. I started out by importing the Strimmer Resistant and Green Enviro Lawn Edgings. Being a designer myself, I got the itch and decided to design more products. It was a risky business, as I had to invest my own funds into the business. While I was a rather successful landscaper and garden designer in Israel, switching over to importing and designing gardening products is not easy! I had my professional know-how to rely on, as well as my academic credentials in landscaping, yet had to deal with language issues (be prepared for my Israeli accent on the phone!).

Although 200 units of the enviro raised beds and the lots of the garden edgings were sold this year-and all customers were happy. Currently any help will be great.

Offering our quality, affordable products - Products such as our raised beds, or the blooming window cone - a new product that can be used instead of a hanging basket or a window box , the strimmer resist lawn edging that is great if you use sheers or a trimmer.

Also quality outdoor lighting.

A ll these products are exclusive to us at the moment and hopefully will get later on to the garden centres. on the website a lot of information if needed and also we are happy to assist on the phone

Free samples and free delivery only to the customers around us.

Staffordshire Police 'Feeling the Difference' Survey

Dear Watch Member,

Fieldwork on behalf of Staffordshire Police for our 'Feeling the Difference' survey is in progress and researchers working on behalf of MEL Research Ltd will be conducting interviews with residents across the force area. The research will take place throughout the months of December 2009 and January 2010.

There are a number of features that will make them identifiable

• They have been asked to report to the nearest police where they are working to introduce themselves and confirm that they are working for MEL Research Ltd on behalf of Staffordshire Police
• They will be wearing polo shirts and high visibility jackets with the MEL logo
• They will carry a letter of introduction from MEL and a letter of authorisation from the Chief Constable

Where a resident has doubts MEL researchers have been asked to:

• Leave a copy of the letter from MEL with their name on it
• Ask the respondent to call the Staffordshire Police contact on the letter to confirm the legitimacy of their visit and the survey
• Agree a later date/time on which to make a return visit to complete the survey.

Start the Christmas season by coming to this lovely traditional Nativity service at ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, THURSDAY 24 DECEMBER
