A village near Market Drayton is
set to unveil a special plan drawn up for its future with the help
of residents.
Villagers in Loggerheads have the opportunity to see the finished
Parish Plan at a drop in meeting, taking place tomorrow.
The plan details the responses of 1,806 residents from the Loggerheads
parish who responded to a questionnaire stating how they want the
area to develop in the future.
The finished article will now be on display tomorrow and has been
hailed as the most important document in the parish’s history.
Eric Pemberton, Chairman of the Parish Plan Committee, said: “We
are overjoyed with the success of this project and the quality of
the plan. The high standard of the booklet means people will want
to read it, it is professional and a credit to everyone involved.
We now have a document that states exactly what people in the parish
want. This is evidence which can be used to move forward and make
the area a better place. The plan itself has really brought the community
together, there is a new enthusiasm in the village and this is the
basis to allow people to get involved." |
Ed Martin, chairman of Loggerheads Parish Council,
praised the hard work that has gone into the plan. He said: “A
fantastic amount of work has been put into this plan. All of the
questionnaires were delivered by hand and it has been a huge task
to collect all the information and put it together.
The plan is fantastic and the professionalism is brilliant it will
make a big difference to the area as long as it is used in the right
way. We hope residents will come along and give us their views.”
Questionnaires
Several meetings were held and questionnaires sent to ask people
about the plan. It covers housing, health, environment and heritage,
crime and safety, services, transport, youth and sport and leisure.
Loggerheads Parish councillor, David Loades said: “The feedback
from the residents who completed the questionnaire has resulted
in what can only be described as the most important document ever
to influence the future of the parish.
The parish council has now taken on the road ahead to make sure
that the input from the residents is not only listened to, but that
they are given the opportunity to be involved in its implementation.
The plan will be launched tomorrow at the Ashley Memorial Hall from
2pm to 5pm. |
